Neapolitan Granny

We have been talking about resolutions at work lately. A patient that came to our office said "I am not going to say a bad word to anyone this year" that is my resolution. I asked hows it going. He said I have not had much to say. That cracked me up. I found it to be a very honorable resolution.
I only had two this year. Because every year I make them and I give up and then get depressed about it. So this year two, that I hope I can keep. That is to use up my stash of yarn and to chill out. I get so worked up and worried over everything. The older I get the more I worry, goes with the mom territory I guess! Any who... presenting my neapolitan granny. This was a combination of yarns that I had in my stash, I love these colors together and will probably do another baby afghan in these colors. This will be donated to Project Linus.

Baby its cold outside!

Yes It has been cold here! The coldest I remember in 25 years! I even had frost on my car the other day! Gets me in the mood to make hats! I made this little beauty watching "Good fellas" last night. Gosh I remember in the 90's thinking what a cool movie! Last night all I could think was how violent and sad it was. I love Paul Sorvino, De Niro and Ray Liota, they are some of the greats! But I could barely watch some of the violence in the movie, I am showing my age!

Back to this great hat, the designer of this wonderful hat is April Draven. She is so very talented and she offers her hat patterns for free! Her designs are simple and cutting edge! I wonder who will steal this hat Rachie or Chelsea?

Quilting time!

Can it be true?

I have actually found an hour or so to quilt! Just sneaking in a few pictures of some projects I have been working on. The little yellow sweater I did Sunday night real late! I actually do suffer from Insomnia some nights, hence the name Insomiac with a hook. I mostly crochet because I have been doing it so long I am much quicker at it than knitting.
My vacation week was a busy one! Here is some pictures of my little man! He is such a busy little guy. Having my family around is a blessing. I adored all the time I got to spend with him and my Daughter in law, we are lucky we enjoy spending time together. My daughter Chelsea was also home for a few days! Onward 2010!!!

Kitschy Christmas

Busy, busy, busy! That is what has kept me from blogger world. Lately, I dont seem to have time for anything. But I was able to finish this, its called a bunting! Dont you just love it! Its very cheesey, and 70's but I love it. I love anything homemade, homey. I get that from my mother. We did not have a lot when we were growing up but my mother always made Christmas such a special time, with baking together, sewing, decorating, singing to Johnny Mathis albums. I think that is why I love it so much. I have some Christmas things I keep out all year. My inspiration came from here

Its beginning to look a lot like......

Ahh I totally enjoyed my few days off. I did all my decorating and wrapping friday. I am offically done. Done you say? Yes, I am one of those people and I will have my tree down and packed away usually 4 days or less after Christmas.
I watched Hallmark Hall of Fame Channel all day Friday, they were showing Christmas movies. I love corny Christmas movies. I started on some crocheted snowflakes. They are a messy undertaking because I use old fashioned corn starch to stiffen them. That is the only thing that does not yellow after a few years.

Still here

Had major camera issues this week. My HP about 2 years old I absolutely love I can no longer charge. Oh the camera is fine but the cat knocked over the docking station and it broke. HP no longer makes the docking station, so on my hunt for a new one ( ebay, Amazon you name it) I found a refurbished one for an outlandish amount of money, waited for delivery for a week and then only to find out it does not work! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. So after visiting staples, office depot and radio shack they told us that it was no longer possible to charge my camera! What? Can you believe a perfectly good camera can no longer be charged? I am staying away from HP, apparently, Sony, GE and Kodak use universal charging systems and regular AA batteries. I learned a lot about cameras not that I wanted to, all I care about is a picture, not pixels or zoom or anything. I am just not that into it! So after a day of running around I am the proud owner of a new GE camera. Yea me! Merry Christmas to me! I feel like a need a class to operate this thing but here it is my very first picture while watching Tampa Bay Bucs finally play some serious football! GO TAMPA BAY! We won!It had to be the Orange uniforms! And by the way a sneak peek at a project I am working on so excited! Stay tuned! Have a great week Y'all!

Still sewing and creating.   This wall hanging/quilt was made at the recent quilt show in Lakeland Florida.  My mom and I attended and took...
