Wool Eater grows....Patriotic afghan

My Wool eater is growing! I am off to Hobby Lobby Saturday with my Daughter in Law to get some more colors. It is taking a lot longer on each row now. Started on a patriotic afghan I have had for a while. After finishing Betsy..I was bummed out that she came out so small. I actually restarted it several times and tried to contact the author of the pattern to no avail. I would have liked it larger but then again its a nice decoration. Pammy Sue and I have talked back and forth about what we would need to do to make it larger. I love Patriotic stuff and have a ton of it. Flags, Longaberger inaugural baskets etc. This book is one of my favorites. I have made many projects in it and use it again and again. The cover is dog eared because of it. This baby afghan..Heartwarming wrap is darling! Have a wonderful day. Chow

Your wool eater is coming along beautifully. I like the splash of bright blue you have mixed in with the more earthy colors. I don't have that book, but I do have one that has a flag afghan in it. There is a really pretty one on Ravelry, I faved a long time ago, will have to see what pattern she used for hers. Have a great day Neicee. Heather

Oh wow, it is so pretty! It reminds me of a Cathedral Window pattern in quilting. That looks like a really good book too!!!!

I have that book too! I think that's the pattern I used that came out so freakin' huge, it was ridiculous. I followed the directions using the same hook, but I used I Love This Yarn. I frogged it because it was just too big. It's a beauty though if you have the patience to make something that huge.

Love the Wooleater! I'm now into the blue part. I'm not cutting the blue, just making sure to keep it towards me when I start the other color. Then when it's time to pick it up again, it's in the right position to start crocheting with it. Does that make sense? It's like tapestry crochet.

I made that flag afghan for my son some years back. It was about 5.5' long by 3.5' wide, but he is now 6'2" so that is a Good Thing. :o) There are a lot of cute patterns in that book!
