Beef...Its whats for dinner!
Awesome weekend! I am enjoying my peace. Sunday we cooked these beautiful steaks. Thank you Acropolis! Tarpons finest butcher/deli! We got fresh bread, beautiful beefsteak tomatoes and mozzarella, I served them with fresh basil and balsamic vinegar.
Finally finished my summer shawl its washed and blocked. Now I just need to sew on the beads I purchased and I will be ready for my trip.
On another note JR had his last night in Kodiak. Bitter sweet. He's glad to come home but had a great 3 years in Alaska. Now he will enjoy the East coast of Florida.
He will be taking 3 weeks with his wife and son to drive across country. Loooooooong trip.. Be safe my boy, see you soon!

Family Day!
Great Family Day at TC this month, Chelsea one an award for Servanthood, She is the first person to step in and help when someone cannot go on the work crews, they said she is a hard worker and loves constantly being busy and helping others. She has been going to jails and other places with TC and giving her testimony of how she once lived her life. It is amazing to see these girls and the changes they have made. We had a great time. AMEN!!

slow progress
Slow progress on my summer shawl. Something for myself! I work on it only on the weekends, by the pool seems to be my only time. I love the yarn so soft it will look wonderful when finished and blocked. It is discontinued and thinking I need another skein, may have to search ebay. Thinking of adding beads to the ends.
I continue to search for the perfect motif for my tablecloth. Hmmmm trying different yarns and hook sizes still not completely satisfied! Well stay tuned, my creative juices continue to flow...........

Quilting progress
My main objective was to finish the comfort quilt I started for a friend this friday, I waited and planned for that day for so long. But much to my avail, I needed to food shop, play with my dog, lay by the pool, etc. So I got only about two hours yesterday to sew. Here is my progress. The purple quilt is one I started for my daughter, the colors are so yummy! I know she will love it. I am not "In love" with the yellow quilt and I think that has to do with my slow progress. I love all the colors but not thrilled with how it is coming along. I think maybe with borders and completion I may like it more. The pattern is from "Manhattan Craft Room" It tells you "not to be exact" Let your lines be wonky, dont sew exactly so everything looks off, this is a fun way to quilt but you have to get used to it. Well off to work! Goodyear awaits me!
