Some Hooky Business

See this lovely blanket pattern... I saw it and had to buy this pattern. It was in my shopping cart Etsy.  I tried to pay and something went wrong. I contacted seller and she said I will no longer sell this pattern.  I did not ask why, but was very disappointed, I mean it was for sale?  So I copied this pictures and sat down with my hook and was able to replicate with no pattern. I of course would not try to sell or distribute. But I buy patterns to support designers. I myself used to write patterns its a major pain in the you know what.
Its writing re writing..hooking, pulling out. I love it and was very sorry not to be able to purchase to support this girl. Have a great day.

It's very pretty Neicee - great work on figuring the pattern out. I agree with you about writing patterns - it can be a pain in the rear sometimes. :)

Denise, I am working almost the same blanket. Its a free pattern from Patons called Fluffy Meringue Blanket. Its not quite the same, but almost. I love it. Here's the Ravelry link. Alla Koval also has a new blanket just like it. Wonder who "designed" it first?

I wonder why she isn't selling it anymore. Maybe she has contracted with a publisher and can't. I think you did a wonderful job creating another. How does the finished edge look? I am thinking this may make a nice square doily.

I went back and compared, they aren't exactly the same, but use the same principal.

That looks really really beautiful! Great job replicating it! It's sad and frustrating when patterns no longer are available!

WOW!!!!! That is simply GORGEOUS! Lacy and pretty, I'd love to try one like that. I also can figure things out by looking at a photo. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Beautiful work! Great job on figuring out the pattern. Bummer that the lady wasn't selling it any more though.

I love it and I think you are so amazing to be able to reproduce it so beautifully. I would never be able to do that.
Hugs to you,
Meredith

Oh, yes. This is much prettier than the one on Ravelry! It's gorgeous. Don't think I would like making one after the other though. Would tire my poor brain. Ha-ha. Are you going to keep making squares?

This is a beautiful piece. I think I would have tried to figure it out myself!

I do wonder about pattern sales these days. I feel like there are a lot of people using vintage patterns and then selling them. I wonder if she got in trouble...

How clever you are to figure this out. It's gorgeous! Oh and indeed patterns are a pain to write. So much time involved.

Thank you for dropping by my blog. I visit your often but am not particularly good at commenting. ;-)
