Queen Anne's Lace

I made this beauty yesterday during two episodes of Law and Order! I had the day off waiting for an inspector to come and see our new AC unit and this is what I made! I love it..Its a gift for someone. I purchased this handpainted yarn at Tuesday Morning! Is a home goods store, I was shocked to see this yarn there. The yarn is Pomaire by Araucania its Chilean yarn I believe. I don't really know but it was a dream to work with and the scarf speaks for itself.. I hand blocked it and its perfect...Happy Weekend! Later Y'all

Random Stuff..

Today is Friday...I am lucky or unlucky enough to be home waiting for an inspector to come and see my new AC unit.. I must wait 7-5. So here are a few random things I decided to post this morning.. First is a gift from a crochet friend. She sent me some baby yarn, I love baby yarn! and a little angel and a crochet hook made from a chop stick I love it!!! I was so suprised!

Next Sarah London had a sale a few weeks ago. I was able to purchase this Cath Kidson kit from her pretty cheap...20 bucks or so but the shipping from her was 22! Go figure.. I am excited to start this blanket but must finish other projects first! This kit came with a hook, a needle and directions how to make a granny square just not how many to make for that blanket...oh well I am sure I will figure it out..

Lastly is my quilt. I love to decorate with quilts. I see so many people on the internet the way they decorate with things amazes me! I wish I had that natural talent. Here I sit drinking my coffee reading magazines, waiting for my inspector to come! Later Ya'll! D

Cross that off the list!

I am finally done with this quilt..I started this when my mom was down, I think in February. I got frustrated with the quilting and had to start again..I used the tutorial from Clover and Violet. I really enjoy that pattern..This is actually a perfect beginner quilt and I love the size..Its bound and washed and soft and cuddly. I tea stained the muslin for the back to give it an aged look..

Dog Days of Summer...

Thats what they have been for me...First washer and dryer went...then A/C went...Let me tell you, July in Florida is not the time to be without AC! My living room was one hundred degrees...I came home from work, undressed and laid in front of a fan..Not a pretty site..I was miserable..
This went on for weeks! Why because we had to shop around..Now thats what I call fun. My husband does not really mind the heat. Anyway to say I have been cranky these last few weeks is an understatement..Then for the installation, they told us the attic opening was too small and the new unit would not fit. We had to make a new hole!!! In my spare room...Nightmare.. Now I have two attic space holes in my house. I am just thankful it is over and I can put this behind me in my nice cool house..Yea Me!

I am posting some pictures of a few quilting items I was working on while they were putting in the AC..one of the workmen came in my sewing room to "see what I was building"
I had nervous energy while they were working and finished this one quilt I have been trying to finish since my mom was here..No motivation..Finally, I decided to free motion quilt it. I did about half of it and decided I hated it..So I took all one Sunday afternoon and pull out each stitch. My new approached was just to do lines, I am happier with it.
Now I am just sewing on my binding by hand, actually my favorite part to do. The other blocks are a quilt I am starting, I got a stack of 15 fat quarters on sale at Joann's Seven dollars! deal! I have 60 squares from it.
Next picture is of some old retro, maybe 70's sheets..five dollars at the thrift shop. They make some neat backing for quilts or maybe squares? Hmmmmm Till next time!

Still sewing and creating.   This wall hanging/quilt was made at the recent quilt show in Lakeland Florida.  My mom and I attended and took...
