What I've been up to!

I always feel bad when I dont post for a few days but I have been soooo busy..Still crocheting, knitting and quilting..among others things and I will post about that later!
Here are a few things I have been working on..The fabric is from Holly Holderman, it is for a quilt my mom, sister and I will be putting together when I go see them in NJ.. We have all selected our fabric from a piece of my mom's curtain. We will do a bento block quilt with all of our fabrics when we get together, should be interesting..I will keep you updated.
I also got this book the other day..I love it! I highly recommend it if you are looking for some great ideas. I totally forgot about it because I got it for 9 dollars on amazon, not realizing it was coming from England! (a month later!)
The other thing I am working on is my spud and chloe knitted blankee.. I am having an issue with Red heart soft..It seems to be broken in several places, it just stops like it was cut?? I have never had this issue before but I ended up with several small balls, and that got me thinking about a round ripple.. I love a round ripple. They work up so quick and I love how you can do such bright and wonderful color schemes. This was done while watching a movie..Love it so far! Till next time!

New Blankee!

My Daughter in law and I are embarking on a new adventure! We are going to make this blanket from Spud and Chloe. We are so excited. It looks so pretty and colorful. Its a new type of pattern for both of us, and we are working on it together and that makes is so much fun!
I have tried one of the squares as you can see with some scrap yarn I had.. We have chosen to do the bright colors as in this blanket. (she is not a pastel girl) She is getting ready to have her second child; a girl, and I am sure she will be making this for her.
I purchased simply soft, by caron. If we enjoy this pattern, I plan on purchasing some of the yarn from Spud and Chloe next go around..Visit them HERE and see what a great selection of patterns they have.. Later Gator!

Sunday Hookin

I was able to get a few minutes of crochet in this morning before starting Sunday Gravey (sauce for non italians)....I am in awe of all the african hexagon afghans out there like Elizabeth Cat's amazing work. So...I decided to give one a try with all the left overs from my last afghan..Notice how absolutely beautiful it is! Then notice the back and all the ends to weave in...I do not have the patience! It is a very daunting task! I realized today why I enjoy making afghans that are all one color...very little ends to weave in..I hate that job! I am a perfectionist and I will weave in ends until I am totally sure they will never come undone..I make myself crazy!
So after I put this beauty down I started another square elegance afghan a pattern by Mary Mcknight that is no longer available, not even in archives. I wonder what has happened to her. This is one of my all time fav's! It looks amazing when done and its fun to do and looks compicated!

Done!

You know what I did this morning from 7:30 am till just now? Finished this #(^$@*%$@% blanket..I remember when I started, so excited to do this blanket, this pattern..I chose the yarn, Loved all the colors, and flew through the first few sections in anticipation of the finished product! Now I am sick of looking at it and was determined to finish it and get it out of my life! I no longer feel the same way. Why I dont know, I get like that...Perfectionism maybe...I just dont know and dont care! I am sure project Linus will find it just dandy.. Does that happen to you? I find it happens with a lot of projects, I have to force myself to finish if I just dont love it. Im not saying I dont love some of the things I work on, I do but somethings just dont do it for me..Oh well out to the pool to Chillax and think about what project I will start next! Will I love it? Who knows...

Still sewing and creating.   This wall hanging/quilt was made at the recent quilt show in Lakeland Florida.  My mom and I attended and took...
